Abstract

The purpose  of the study was to analyze noise pollution in the Central part of the city of Poltava, to map the nois e of the road network on the basis of calculated and experimental data and to assess the risk of noise exposure to public health.  Method. Measuring (measurement of noise levels); comparative (assessment of noise pollution); statistical (data processing).  Results. The existence of exceeding the normative values of noise levels in some parts of the streets and directly in the areas of intersections. Bu ilt on the basis of instrumental measurements noise map allowed to assess the acoustic environment of the study area. Visually describes the boundaries of zones of acoustic load. Exceeding the standard values of noise pollution extends to a distance of 50 -150 m from the studied sections of roads..  Scientific novelty. It consists in theoretical and practical confirmation of levels of noise load from road transport  with  the  justification  of  the  magnitude  of  the  risk  to  public  health  in  the  surrounding  areas.   Practical  significance. Analysis of the existing state of noise pollution of residential areas of the Central  part of the city of Poltava, followed by practical recommendations to reduce the noise load.
